How to use Claude Dashboards on your own data

On October 8, 2026 Anthropic announced Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion, both in beta. Dashboards turns a question about your company's data into a dashboard: you connect a data source, ask in plain language, and Claude writes a query for each chart, runs it, and builds the dashboard. Anthropic says the dashboard stays current as the data changes.
Each chart shows the query behind it and when its data was last refreshed. Dashboards are saved in the Artifacts tab.

- On Enterprise, Dashboards and Motion are off by default. An owner turns them on in Organization settings > Artifacts.
- Dashboards count toward your plan's usage limits, like the rest of your work with Claude.
How to use it
- Connect your data. Either a data warehouse (Anthropic lists Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks and Snowflake) or another app you have connected to Claude, such as Salesforce.
- Ask in any chat. For example: "Show weekly signups for the last six months, split by plan." You can also pick Output in the message box and choose Dashboards, or start from a Dashboards template in the Artifacts tab.
- Refine it. Ask for changes in the chat, like "Add a filter for region" or "Change this to a weekly view."
- Check the numbers. Click any number to see the query behind it, or ask Claude to explain it. If it is not counting what you meant, tell Claude what to change.
- Share it. Dashboards start private. Open one and click Share.
Anthropic's tip: say what you want to know, not just what to chart, and name the table or app if you know where the data lives.

The first four are Anthropic's own examples. The last one is ours; what you get back depends on the data you connect.
When to use something else
Anthropic positions Dashboards for quick, exploratory questions. When a question needs deeper analysis, you can send the dashboard to Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog or Sigma and continue there. Looker, monday.com and Tableau are listed as coming soon.
Bonus: Claude Motion
Claude Motion turns a report, a chart or a product walkthrough into a short animation that plays like a video. You can edit it in the editor or ask Claude to change it, then download it as an MP4. Claude writes code that animates your text, charts, shapes and images, so any word, number or timing can be changed. Anthropic says it does not use a video generation model, so there is no generated footage and no AI-generated people. Motion is in beta on Team and Enterprise.

What is Claude Dashboards?
