Free estimate & quote maker
with PDF download
Fill in the form and the estimate builds itself as you type. Add your logo, line items, tax, discount and a valid-until date, then download the PDF or print it. No sign-up, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
A highlighted box does not hold a number we can read, so it counts as 0. Use digits and a decimal point, with no currency sign. Discounts go from 0 to 100%.
Some characters you typed are not in the PDF’s built-in font and will show as “?”. To keep them, press Print and choose “Save as PDF”.
Next: get a yes, then get paid
In Fynl the quote goes out as a link your client can accept or decline online, with your valid-until date on it and a deposit link once they say yes. Accepted quotes mark the lead as won and turn into an invoice without retyping.

How to write an estimate in four steps
- Add your business. Your name, contact details and logo. They are remembered in this browser for next time.
- Add the client. Who the estimate is for, and their address or email.
- Price the work. One line per part of the job, with the quantity and unit price. Add tax, a discount or shipping if you need them.
- Set how long it holds. Pick a valid-until date, then download the PDF or print it. The client signs the line at the bottom to accept.
What to put on an estimate or quote
- Your business name, contact details and logo.
- The client’s name and address.
- A number, so you can find it when the client says yes.
- The date, and how long the price holds.
- Each part of the job with its quantity, unit price and amount, so the client sees what they are paying for.
- The subtotal, any discount, the tax and the total.
- Your terms: what is not included, the deposit you need and when the balance is due.
Call it an estimate when the price may change with the job, and a quote when you are committing to a fixed price.
How the totals are worked out
The maths is done in whole cents, so the numbers on the estimate always add up exactly.
- Each line is the quantity times the unit price, rounded to the nearest cent.
- The subtotal is the sum of the lines.
- A discount is a percentage of the subtotal.
- Tax is charged on what is left after the discount, once for each tax rate, and rounded to the cent.
- Shipping is added after tax to give the total.
From yes to paid without retyping
Once the client agrees, the same numbers have to become an invoice. Here, “Turn it into an invoice” carries everything into the free invoice generator. Fynl goes further:
- The quote goes out as a link your client can accept or decline online, and tell you why if they decline.
- It shows your valid-until date, and a deposit link once they accept.
- An accepted quote marks the lead as won, and its invoice can send reminders until it is paid.
- Contracts, your contacts, calendar and Gmail inbox sit in the same place, starting at $49 a month.

Estimate maker FAQ
Is this estimate maker really free?
Yes. Make and download as many estimates and quotes as you like, with no account and no card. Each PDF carries a small “Made with Fynl” line at the bottom.
What is the difference between an estimate and a quote?
An estimate is your best guess at the price, and the final bill can change if the job does. A quote is a fixed price for the work described. Pick the title that matches what you are promising.
Do I need to sign up or install anything?
No. The estimate maker runs in your web browser on a phone or a computer. Fill it in, then download the PDF or print it.
Is what I type private?
Nothing you type is uploaded. The preview and the PDF are made in your browser, and your business details, logo and last estimate are saved only in that browser so you do not retype them. The “Forget my details” button clears them.
How are the tax and totals worked out?
Each line is the quantity times the unit price, rounded to the cent. The discount comes off the subtotal, and tax is charged on the discounted amount, once per tax rate. Shipping is added after tax.
How long should an estimate be valid for?
Long enough for the client to decide, short enough that your costs have not moved. Thirty days is a common choice; pick 7 to 90 days or your own date, and it prints as “Valid until”.
Can I turn the estimate into an invoice?
Yes. Press “Turn it into an invoice” and the free invoice generator opens with the client, items, tax and discount already filled in.
Can my client accept the quote online?
Not from a PDF. In Fynl, which starts at $49 a month, the quote goes out as a link your client can accept or decline, and a deposit link appears once they accept.
