The direct review link appears at once. Copy it, or open it to check it’s your business.

Print the card

Add your name, logo and colour, then download a PDF of four cards or one sign per sheet.

What a Google review link does

A normal Google Maps link shows your profile, and customers then have to find the review button. A direct review link, in the form https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid=…, opens the star rating and comment box straight away. Fewer taps means more people finish.

Google needs people to be signed in to a Google Account to leave a review, so anyone who isn’t will be asked to sign in first. That’s normal, and it happens with every review link.

Where to put your link

  • The thank-you email or text you send after a job.
  • Receipts, invoices and the end of a chat with a customer.
  • A printed card at the counter, on tables or handed over with the finished work.
  • Your email signature. Our free email signature generator has a button line for it.

Google’s rules for asking

Ask every customer, not only the happy ones, and never offer anything in return. Google treats discounts, gifts or freebies given for reviews as fake engagement and can remove the reviews. Read Google’s tips to get more reviews for the full rules, and our guide on how to ask customers for reviews for wording that works.

Questions

Review link questions

Do I need a Google API key or an account to use this?

No. You find your Place ID with Google’s own free Place ID Finder, and this page builds the link, QR code and card in your browser. No key, no sign-up.

What is a Place ID?

A Place ID is the code Google gives every business and place on Google Maps. Most start with ChIJ. The review link needs it to know which business to open.

Why doesn’t my Google Maps share link work?

Short share links (maps.app.goo.gl) and most Maps page addresses usually don’t contain the Place ID. Use Google’s Place ID Finder, or copy the review link from your Business Profile under Read reviews, then Get more reviews.

Does the review link work on phones?

Yes. It works on phones and computers. People who aren’t signed in to a Google Account are asked to sign in before they can post.

Can I offer a discount for a review?

No. Google doesn’t allow incentives of any kind for reviews and treats them as fake engagement. Ask every customer politely, and make it easy with the link and the card.

What size are the printed cards?

With four cards per sheet, each card is a quarter of the page: 4.25 × 5.5 inches on US Letter, or 105 × 148.5 mm (A6) on A4. Cut along the light grey lines. The one-per-sheet layout makes a full-page sign.

Is it free?

Yes. The link, the QR code and the cards are free, with no sign-up. Each card carries a small “Made with Fynl” line along its bottom edge.
